The Transportation and Maintenance operations center serving a school district with six schools, this site, 4.3 acres on an eight acre parcel, includes parking for 50 school buses, plus employee vehicles. The building has a 9,000 square foot print under bean in a six-bay configuration, including semi-enclosed secure storage and work areas, providing service and maintenance bays, a management office, employee facilities, and and work areas. The lower ceilinged program areas in bays two and five are overtopped with storage mezzanines that add another 3,000 square feet to the building's capacity. The facility was completed in November, 2007.
Significant challenges included a sever site gradient differential of 30 feet in 360, which required the provision of a 300-foot long retaining wall up to 12 feet tall.
