The new Della Davidson Elementary School for grades 4-5 was completed in late July 2007 in time for the 2007-2008 academic year. Designed to accommodate 500 students, the building has two classroom wings, a cafeteria/auditorium wing, a gymnasium wing, and room for a third classroom wing to be added in the future. All the wings are organized around an octagonal hub at the center of the building.
Most of the roofs are pitched standing seam metal roofs, with low-slope roofs over the gymnasium and cafeteria wings. The project was constructed in two phases, with a site construction package preceding the building construction package in order to meet the District's necessarily aggressive schedule. The building was constructed in 13 months and comprises approximately 77,000 square feet.
